Congratulations to David McMillan, executive chef of 62 Main Restaurant, the 2008 Winner of the Stainless Steel Chef Competition! Casey Thompson, executive chef of Shinsei, came in close behind as the first runner-up with her outstanding red snapper creations.
Hosted by The Viking Cooking School at Milestone Culinary Arts Center & D Magazine, over 200 guests enjoyed the heated competition and an up-close and personal look at Dallas’ Hottest Chefs at work!
The chef partipants at this year’s 2nd annual event include: Kelly Hightower of Kavala Mediterranean Grill, Tim Love of Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, Kevin Maxey of Craft, David McMillan of 62 Main Restaurant, Casey Thompson of Shinsei, and Tre Wilcox, former chef of Abacus.
Contest judges included Nancy Nicols, D Magazine food and travel editor, Paula Lambert, founder of the Mozzarella Company and many other local foodies and restaurateurs. This year’s special guest judge: Chris Ward, the 2007 Stainless Steel Chef winner.
